Gypsy meets the Klezmer
This is new, ambitious and simply brilliant! With their virtuoso mixture of gypsy swing, jazz and klezmer the two firstclass soloists Joscho Stephan (guitar) and Helmut Eisel (clarinet) are holding the listener’s breath and mesmerizing ther audience with expressive soli and shrewd dialogues.
Günter Stephan (rhythm guitar) and Volker Kamp / Max Schaaf (double bass) are providing the basis for soloistic flights as well as the antipole for highly tensive contrasts and frictions.
The combiantion of gypsy swing and klezmer, of Stephan and Eisel, ensures pure pleasure and makes you gape about the communicative energy of a music which is compellingly pulling the listener deeply into this unique melange of styles. Vivid joy of playing, profound melancholy and exuberant vitality, riddled with a multitude of virtuoso improvisations – this is a meeting of two musicians who have a lot to say: to each other as well as to their audience.
Gypsy Swing meets the Klezmer? No question! Just perfect!
